*This post may contain affiliate links

Fresh made tomato juice is a wonderful and healthy treat. Bursting in lycopene and many other antioxidants, tomato juice has anti-cancer and other disease prevention benefits.

Home made tomato juice is one of my favorite juices. In fact it is in my top 3, along with pomegranate juice and carrot juice. If we start talking about combos then carrot and tomato together is my idea of juicy heaven - and if I am not feeling to lazy, then I might make the effort and enjoy a fresh V8 juice! Well it usually ends up being more like a V5 or V4, but its all good 🙂

So here I am going to share a few tomato juice recipes you can make at home. There are two methods to making tomato juice, one involves cooking (or blanching) them first, the other methods puts the pure raw tomato straight into the juice machine. The raw option is what I use, and the following recipes will reflect that. I always juice tomatoes with their skins on, that is where many antioxidants live.

1. Tomato Juice with Green Onion Garnishtomatensaft

This recipe is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

  • Ingredients: 3 large tomatoes (4 medium) and the tiniest bit of green onion!
  • Wash tomatoes thoroughly and but them through your juicer
  • Super finely chop half a teaspoon's worth of green onion, bulb or the green to your preference. I like the green because raw onion doesn't sit well with me.

2. Spicy Tomato, Carrot and Celery Juice

Show me the spicy! This recipe includes to of my favorite veggies to juice - tomatoes and carrots. It also includes my favorite taste too - spicy!

  • Ingredients: 2 medium sized toms, 2 carrots, 1 celery stick, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Wash the veggies, no need to peel carrots if organic, the peel is excellent nutrition
  • Put all the veggies in your juicing machine and let have it
  • Stir in the cayenne pepper
  • Increase or decrease cayenne amount to your preference

This makes for an excellent detox drink too. The cayenne pepper is known for its detoxing power and is key ingredient in many food based detox programs. The toms, celery and carrots all boast potent detoxifying antioxidant benefits.

3. V4 - Heavy on the Tomatoes

Let's cut the popular V8 in half, but with bias on the tomatoes.

  • Ingredients: 2 medium tomatoes, 1/2 a beet, 1 carrot, 1/4 green bell pepper
  • Wash all ingredients
  • Juice the veggies
  • Optional: stir in a teaspoon of olive oil and/or add a teaspoon of cayenne to make thing spicy
